The chores can wait, my happiness cannot!

Hello, lovely mumma’s,

I thought of you all this morning as I was in my morning mad rush to get the kids to kinder & school. I take comfort in the thought that I’m not the only crazy woman rushing out the door in a flap, heart pounding & feeling rather flustered.

My plans for this morning after drop-off were nothing short of frantic. I have a list a mile long of the usual mumma chores & jobs to get done today & as usual, I had everything squeezed in down to the second with no time at all breathe.

Hubby left ultra early this morning for a well-deserved 4-day workshop interstate & I could feel a headache coming on as I got up to my daughter at 5.45am... plus my anxiety was through the roof because life has been just so damn busy lately.

So, as my mind started going into overdrive about how tired I am, how my body aches and how I just need a break. I decided to make a conscious choice to set myself up for success rather than failure over these next 4 days with my 2 cherubs rather than 'just existing' to get through until hubby walks back through that door.

I made a choice.... The sun is shining in Melbourne this morning (which is a rarity this time of year), so I chose to drop every single chore and do something that feels good for me. I drove down to the beach, I walked, I sat quietly, I listened to a motivational podcast & I dropped by my favourite cafe & grabbed a smoothie.

I now feel ready, refreshed, happy & calm, plus the headache has gone (Yes!!)

Nurturing our soul & our body is imperative, even if it means putting the non-inspiring stuff on hold for a bit. It’s not going anywhere, we need to just trust that it will get done at the right time.

So, if you’re feeling a little frazzled today & your body is screaming out to you to stop. Just do it! You have the choice, nobody else is going to stop for you.

I now feel much more relaxed & capable about these next few days & also clearer about getting back into those chores (rather than stressed about doing them!).

Take a break ladies, it will do you the world of good - I promise.
