Reaching out can be the difference between deep suffering & happiness!

So what are my options? Creating your own tribe of people to help you doesn't always mean spending copious amounts of money!

Here are some recommendations on how you can start to create your own tribe.

▶︎ Advertise that you are looking for volunteers to help with support/play therapy/respite (Gumtree is a good one in Australia & local councils have volunteer programs too). Put flyers up in local shops & universities.

▶︎ Look into Au Pair's - very cost effective for a lot of hours of help in-home (or demi-pairs who live-out).

▶︎ Ask your local council what services they might have (ie. respite, cleaning services).

▶︎ Family/friends - ask, email, text letting them know that you are needing a bit of extra support & for them to let you know if they can help.

▶︎ Paid babysitters - there are many websites you can go through agencies. Pricing varies so read the fine print before committing.

▶︎ You could also crowdfund or fund-raise so you can get the support you need. There are many websites that offer this service.

▶︎ Be really descriptive in your ad/info you provide because you want to attract the right people into your world. Make sure you interview first.

Disclaimer:

Best not to ask people who do not want to be there! There is nothing worse than leaving your child with someone who finds it a chore to help you. I guarantee this will create guilt & unease for you which is counter-productive in the long run.

Good luck!
